Although The Stable @ Riverview is now mostly a pleasure farm, it was originally a productive working farm. Purchased by Tom and Jean Hauser in the early 1960's, the property was used as a livestock, tobacco, and row crop farm ... even farming with horses for several years. The farm provided sustenance to raise 5 children and was the preferred location for many Hauser family gatherings and a summer retreat for many cousins (they thought it was work).
The property was acquired by Pat Hauser (son) and his wife Suzie in 2005. Major property restoration projects began including land clearing, new pastures, conservation easements, ponds, roads and fencing. New structures followed and finally the addition of horses.
Using the property as an event venue grew organically as family and friends made requests for weddings and reunions. Offering the facilities for private events helps offset the expense of seed, feed, and fertilizer. Our connection to this farm is undeniable and we are truly fortunate to have been a part of many awe-inspiring events. Come view this river land and experience the hospitality we offer and serenity we enjoy . . . . . your connection to true southern heritage.
